Most of those small upstarts by the early half of this decade will have failed to survive. The cleaning companies that had been already in business before the downturn saw their client list have a sharp decrease do to the  influx of individuals starting out and undercutting the brick and mortar shops, also devastating to the established shops was the down turn itself companies (Clients) needed to cut back and Janitorial was the first to go clients could easily persuade a employee who's hours had already been cut to stay a little longer that day and clean the office. As for home owners if it was a choice between retaining your housekeeper and keeping your kid in privet school, that's a no brainier..

The pay per click advertising if your not familiar usually is the top three companies at the top of any search, for example if you enter in your search bar "Maids in Las Vegas" you will find in most cases that the top three findings are in a colored box and in very small print labeled Ads related to maids in Las Vegas underneath the sponsored adds that some company is paying the search engine for the privilege to be at the top of the page.

More than likely the same companies that use sponsored links spend their time and money climbing the charts of Yahoo, Bing and pay to have advertising on various other cleaning orientated sites such a Angie's List, all of thees things can help your site gain prominence above the others. Potential clients should not be detoured from pay per click advertisers like they use to be from large Ad's in the phone book. I remember when I used the phone book to find a plumber let's say, I would turn to the section labeled Plumbers and make my way passed the four to five full page ads to get to the smaller ones, thinking to myself If they have the money to support a full page they are probably very expensive that just not the case with pay per click advertising.  In a increasingly competitive cleaning business pay per click advertising is in some cases the only way to reach a new client and it is much more cost effective you can change your budget almost instantly to fit your schedule or advertising budget for that week advertising in the phone book was a fixed cost.
